His justification of needing to ‘sacrifice free market principles in order to save it’ caused significant esophageal erosions..)

The problem with reading speeches instead of listening to them is that you miss the little things, like:

Jan Brewer getting booed

Frantic cheering throngs

People shouting ‘we love you’

And….T-Shirts..

Of Course, POTUS can’t be held responsibility for stupid people ~ boorish snots who boo the governor (at a memorial service), a thunderously clapping mass of humanity (at a memorial service) or people shouting ‘we love you’ (….at a memorial service). Nope, the president gets a pass on those actions – but that’s as far as it goes.

Location, location, location. Maybe it’s just me, but perhaps the choice of venue was flawed? I dunno, maybe a place of worship might have been more appropriate, given the quoting of scripture and evocation of the name of God on several occasions? Perhaps a more somber setting would have been better if one were serious about being….serious.

Perhaps I am being too harsh. Its not like such events have not been held in similar venues before. Hmmm….whatever could have been the difference?

MAYBE IT WAS THE EFFING T-SHIRTS?!?

“Together We Thrive” was a retread from Obama’s website ‘Organizing for America’. Seriously? T-Shirts? Did they have a beach-balls bouncing around in the crowd and a light show too?

And just like that, a memorial service was transformed into a 2012 campaign rally and the hopes that our president was finally turning into something honorable was dashed....and I looked a wee bit closer.

Instead of an ‘Oklahoma City’ moment in which a president could be seen reconnecting with the country after a brutal mid-term defeat, the week’s events instead revealed a hyper-politicized, partisan exercise in hateful, purposeful stupidity, slander and opportunism.

If Obama really wanted to cool tempers he would have done so as soon as the rhetoric heated up. Remember the ‘let’s not jump to conclusions’ narrative after the Ft. Hood massacre? Instead, the president let his attack dogs loose (I suppose when the verbal targets are your political enemies, then the truth can be a casualty as well) and the results were predictable.

And it all started with the sheriff (and here I thought those guys were into the whole law-enforcement thing). According to Dupnik (or Sheriff Roscoe P. EffTard, as I lovingly call him) “There is no doubt in my mind” that Loughner was affected by rhetoric (e.g., Limbaugh, Palin, Tea Pariters, et.al) although he freely admitted he had no evidence of such. None. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada.

The fact that our red-thong-clad-with-handgun-wielding-psychotic-murderer was bat-shit crazy was apparently irrelevant to Dupnik (as well as the MSNBC talking heads, the NYT, the pitiful excuse for democratic congressional leadership [to include our illustrious Secretary of State])

Just for funzies, lets look at a few of the clearly hard right influences / hobbies of Loughner:

Truther: God only knows how many conservative truthers are out there… tens of thousands at least.

Athiest: Whoops, shouldn’t have said ‘God’ above. Because the media sure did! Over and over and over and over and over (and over). Why? Because of voting ‘targets’ incite violence? The White House and the media was dry humping its collective leg over the thought of finding some form of Palin-paraphernalia in Loghner’s possession (not that there was any). So desperate were they to pin some form of blame on either her or the Tea Party that they abandoned any hope of reason or fact checking…. and the president sat by and let the anger foment. As Michelle Malkin put it, a strategy was in place…and it is called, ‘Blame Righty’.

Malkin does a wonderful job of not only chronicling the history of falsely blaming the ‘right’ for any number of tragic events (ever notice that the media never blames the actual shooter, but instead drones on about ‘vitriolic influences’ or some such nonsense? Personal accountability being passé’ and all…) she also chronicles blatant left on right ‘hate crimes’, but I again digress.

The media / democrat / stupidity brigade continued to target Palin and the Tea Party for ‘angry rhetoric, and the use of gun-speak (targets, reload, blah, blah’ all the while forgetting such presidential gems as:

‘If they bring a knife, we’ll bring a gun’

‘Get in your neighbor’s face’

‘Punish our enemies’ (in reference to conservatives)

The list goes on. Other Dems have also used such languaging in the past (as have Republicans for that matter). One congressional Democrat ran an add of him (gasp) shooting a copy of proposed ‘Cap and Tax’ legislation…. Oh the horror!

Predictably, Palin took the bait. In a very nice speech, where she too showed her skill in teleprompter reading happened to use the term ‘Blood Libel’…. and then it was on. Despite the backing of such notable / knowledgeable liberal thinkers such as Alan Dershowitz as to the correctness of the term, Palin was instantly branded as ignorant, stupid and quite possibly anti Semitic for the use of the term. This, of course, was just useful collateral damage for the president and media allies. Truth and fact were irrelevant. The feeding frenzy went unabated.

And then….

The Great Uniter came.

He read a great speech.

And we all held hands and sang Kumbaya (all the while, oil climbed near $100 per barrel and the economic news remains just north of wretched and our debt ceiling climbed to $14 trillion….but darn it anyway, at least NOW we have civil discourse!) Pesky 1st Amendment…screw it.

Predictably, after the ‘Defining Moment’ of Obama’s career, the presidential kneepads were again issued to the press corps. All hailed the Great Uniter. My favorite of these ‘pieces’ was an article written by Dan Balz in the Washington Post, ‘As Obama Urged Unity, Palin Brought Division’. No, it wasn’t Oklahoma City and Laughner wasn’t McVeigh, but that wont stop the media from trying to make it so.

I think my friend, the Professor said it best:

"So THIS is what it takes for President Obama to finally visit Arizona or the Tucson border corridor. After countless invitations from the least citizen on up to the governor herself. THIS is what i...t takes to visit a state where kidnapping, murder, and rape even of children is an ongoing and daily horror.

"But it's profitable. It's only Mexicans affected, right? And some right-wingers who get upset? Obama ignored those invitations. Because it might make him look bad - so bad, that he'd have to act like a leader..

"But now that daily horror and tragedy doesn't involve some redneck rancher, or some Mexican, but instead a public official - I guess we all agree the President looked pretty good on Wednesday."

Eff him and eff how good he sounded.
Eff healing.
I don't see anything healed that this President is in a position to affect.
Just more Oprah shit.

So, let us rejoice in the possibility of our lawmakers sitting together at the State of the Union address (and gee, ya can't even tell how many less Democrats there are that way) and enjoy 'civil discourse'! They did not view themselves as revolutionaries but conservatives. They were not demanding new freedoms but only asserting the rights guaranteed to them as Englishmen. And through these struggles, the United States of America was eventually born.

Today, 'conservatives', 'patriots' or whatever label they are branded are in revolt against a different crown - sadly, it is a crown of our own making. A crown that has grown more bloated and corrupt year by year, administration by administration. Not inherently due to a (D) or (R) in front of their name but rather for the underlying (P) - progressivism. The belief that centralization of power is good and that the political/intellectual elite are wiser and better able to deal with our own problems than we - the oft-failed belief that a benevolent dictator is favorable to freedom

Celebrity and charisma is a poor substitute for leadership.
Demagoguery and the politics of division can no longer be allowed to hold sway.
We can ill-afford to 'pull (a lever) and pray' anymore - leaders must be held accountable for actions. Those who gain power by the growth of the machine cannot be trusted to unblinkingly maintain it
The bloated and corrupted apparatus that is government must be restored to the engine of freedom it once was

No,
We wont be hung for treason in the attempt – instead, the IRS will be dispatched upon us
The Crown's army will not march in the streets – but a Legion of bureaucrats and regulators will descend upon us like a plague of locusts stripping us of individual liberties and freedoms - decimating the fruits of our labors
There will be no ‘One if by Land, Two if by Sea’ – now we have ‘One if by Bailout, Two if by Social Programs’

Once our forefathers took a stand to assert their rights as Englishmen
Today, we take as stand to assert our rights as Americans, as established in the Constitution – and as before, not just for ourselves but our posterity.

Ask yourselves, what sort of America will we leave them?
The battle may begin with an election tomorrow – but the war will not end soon.
Decades have we born the self-made yoke of an ever increasingly tyrannical ruling class of the government elite – and they will not relinquish their power easily or willingly
The fault is ours as must be the solution
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance - and in this, we have failed. We can no longer afford to do so

Again, I ask you – to our posterity, what will we leave?
Diminished freedoms?
A fragmented society where identity politics trumps the good of the citizen?
Crushing legacy expenses – the economic ‘Sins of the Father’ forever born by the children?
American Exceptionalism replaced with a cultural scorn of American Mediocrity?
Do we leave them ‘The Shining City on the Hill’ or a government inspired Katrina trailer park?

The choice is not theirs
The responsibility is ours

Vote
Act
Be Vigilant

Demand the freedoms as established in our Constitution
Honor the sacrifice in blood made by those who established and protected it
Leave to our posterity, a nation in which they can be proud

Be RevolutionaryThe Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-14255335344825537322010-10-30T20:31:00.008-05:002010-10-30T21:12:17.623-05:00Midnight in the Garden of Crude and Feeble
<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"></o:smarttagtype>
Greetings gentle reader. I have been tardy….
Some may refer to me as ‘re-tardy’ (just ask my lovely wife…. gotta love that self-defecating humor)
Weeks have passed since my last foray into the boundless reaches of stupidity that is life under the Obama administration – and it just keeps getting better, doesn’t it?

I throw myself on the mercy of the viewing public – as stress levels have been high, insanity has reigned with impunity, I exist on a diet of caffeine and fingernails, sleep sounds like something rich people do to amuse themselves and I haven’t showered in days.
Yes, I am a tweaked out zombie with poor hygiene (ok, I kid about the showering… but everything else is essentially spot-on). All I want to do is sit in the recliner and watch some uber-nerdy Science Channel show about parallel universes and how in one of them Obama actually shows his birth certificate…

But no, Barack the Merciful has been so unbelievably, unnervingly, pathetically stupid this week that I am forced to respond. Really, I don’t want to. I could even watch 30 min of Bear Grylls in Worst Case Scenario….
Alas, it is my civic duty to point out that the current resident of1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is a complete and utter f*cktard.

You have got to be effing kidding me.

First, the week starts off with the assistant Secretary of State (ooh, being Hillary’s bitch… Bill must be relieved that someone officially has that title for the time being) some uberleft choadwank (who when not occupied with performing amazing acts of hypocritical and wrongheaded stupidity is bringing suit against Donald Rumsfeld for war crimes..) apologizing to China for our terrible human rights record visa-vie….Arizona.
Michael H. Posner…who ‘brought it up early and often’ (ahem) when misrepresenting the Arizona law with the ChiComs… you know, the same regime that has gulags, political prisoners, millions murdered under Mao (say that 3 times fast) and the same country that’ll shoot you in the effing head if you cross the border illegally.
Yeah, that country.
I’m not sure if Posner was trying to work a few billion off of our China debt as he got on his knees and smiled like a donut – or if he just hates America that much. Either way, words like ‘pathetic’ and ‘infuriating’ don’t quite cut it.
Perhaps Barack the Bower has just programmed all of his lackeys to grovel whenever they meet foreigners… just a thought.

But no my friends, it gets worse. Much, much worse – because our illustrious and all caring messiah, Barack the Most High, had yet to take the stage…and he brought company, the president of Mexico…hilarity ensued (and by hilarity, I mean vomitous, enraging, hypocritical stupidity of a heretofore unknown level in America)

‘Mexican president knocks Arizona law from White House lawn’ – to which, one of my friends of Mexican heritage replied ‘I hate it when the words "Mexican" and "lawn" are used in the same sentence!’…I still laugh when I see that…
I digress, mostly because my eyes are crossing with exhaustion and I have to pee…which is too much information…
Anyway…. To illustrate my disgust, allow me to use the following analogy

Could you imagine bringing a guest to your house - who then proceeds to insult your family in the most inanely hypocritical fashion- while you stand by nodding your gynormously large-eared vacuous nugget like a chipmunk on crack?
Then, to top it off - throw a gala event in this person's honor at the very expense of the family he is slandering?
Welcome to the administration of Barack Obama.
May it only last another 2 years.
I wonder, does our president have a little gummie band on his wrist with ‘WWSAD’ on it? (What Would Saul Alinsky Do) –Dear God but this man must hate America.

This is a national embarrassment of the highest order. That the leader of any foreign nation would be permitted to castigate Americans from the White House lawn...? Could you imagine say Ronald Regan or John F. Kennedy’s response to this? They would’ve bitch-slapped the hell out of that whiny little punk and let a coyote smuggle him back across the border.
And when the rank hypocrisy of it all is considered (just take a gander at Mexico’s hearts and flowery immigration laws) the situation gets even more infuriating. Mexico is essentially a 3rd world nation more dangerous than Iraq, hopelessly corrupt and no viable economic infrastructure – whose only hope is to influx our borders with illegal immigrants so they can send back remittances to prop up their broken economy – and what passes for a president (our Demagogue in Chief) allows the leader of this broken land to lecture US? From our own house no less?

Obama has gone from not accepting American exceptionalism to defecating on the laws he has sworn to protect. I honestly didn’t think my opinion of our president could get any lower… but this… is beyond the pale.

Then, the Great Apologizer discusses his idea of 'comprehensive immigration reform'
which essentially consists of…. paying taxes and perhaps a small fine.... then you can live here if you've been flaunting our laws with impunity – as long as you have illegally emigrated to our country through the southern border that is. His speech was sickening, truly.
Obama must obviously think so very little of this country, if citizenship means so little to him. If Ellis Island were still functioned as per a port of entry for legal immigration, I wonder if he would try to close it before or after GITMO?
And then… the coupe de gras
Obama went on to say… ‘We are defined by our bonds, not our borders’ – eg, the president of the United States has no respect for the integrity of the borders of the nation he has been chosen to lead.
Just think about this from a practical standpoint for a moment. How would you react if your neighbor jumped over your fence, swam in your pool, ate your food and while rearranging the furniture more to his liking, hurt himself … and sent you the hospital bill. As we are defined by our bonds of neighborliness and all that, I suppose we shouldn’t mind, right?

One could argue of course, that the above quote was 'taken out of context' and the president is keenly aware of the importance of national sovereignty… but then, one would be wrong.
Given Calderon's complete disregard for our borders and our laws - Obama's speech is both incredibly disturbing and instructive. One need not ‘take it out of context' to see our president wants open borders as badly as he wanted universal healthcare.
He is addressing a man who ENCOURAGES his population to disobey our laws and ignore our sovereignty.
Obama himself has completely characterized Arizona immigration enforcement to the point of lunacy and race baiting.
Obama has ignored repeated requests by states to enforce federal law and / or to help defend the border.
Oh, almost forgot - congressional Democrats cheered Calderon (standing ovation) when he addressed Congress, lecturing us about racial profiling and Arizona law... the sackless bastards cheered him.. (and JFK is madly spinning in his grave)
The context is clear - our president has no respect for our national sovereignty, our culture or our values. He views a strong America as bad for the global community – and the most powerful community organizer in the history of mankind will not rest until he has done what he thinks is best for the global community – the United States be damned.

What the hell did we do to ourselves?
November cannot come soon enough – at least that way he can be legislatively neutered.
Well, I am sure Benedict Arnold will be looking forward to the company some day in Dante’s little eternal vacation home..

What Would Saul Alinsky Do indeed….The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-74610834933595435042010-05-08T08:49:00.001-05:002010-05-08T12:50:30.861-05:00Grecian Formula
<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="country-region"></o:smarttagtype>
Somewhere on Olympus, Zeus is weeping.

His once proud subjects –a people of renowned art and culture, founders of the Olympic Games, warriors and philosophers – the stuff of legend and inspiration of the Western World, the very cradle of Democracy… have come to this.

Children. And A Race-Baiting PresidentSo much to rant about, so little time.
That and the fact that there is simply so much ground to cover...

There is the absolute monstrosity that is 'financial reform'... a bill so bloated, so mired stupidity and bureaucracy as to have government picking winners and losers, creating a class of institutions as 'too big to fail' as well as granting the government the ability and authority to hire/fire and essentially mandate activity. Certainly not Capitalism as we have come to know and love but more like another Obamanism that we have come to expect and loathe...

Then there is the complete and utter failure of the Obama administration (thus far anyway) to do anything at all about the gulf coast environmental disaster. Of course, Obama, Nepalitano and company were far too busy criss-crossing the country in campaign mode browbeating, race-baiting and other largely un-presidential activities visa vie Arizona immigration reform measures than to bother with an ecological disaster...but at least Obama has sent Eric Holder and a team of lawyers to the site... I'm sure that makes the gulf coast natives breathe a sigh of relief. Of course, there are half (or 1/8th hearted) attempts to compare this with the Katrina disaster - a charge Obama vehemently denied.. and then scheduled a fly over between rounds of golf, but i digress

As fun as the above 2 would be to rant about (more), I think the ultimate winner of the rant lottery has to be immigration reform, Arizona and the subsequent parade of stupidity and hypocrisy that predictably followed.

The primary (and one of few legitimate) functions of government is the safety of its citizens. As this pertains to border security, the federal government has failed miserably, for several reasons. First is a failure to enforce its own laws. as such, states like Arizona are then forced to do the federal government's job for them and enforce laws that are already on the books. Sadly (and predictably) the left, Democrats in general and the sycophantic, kneepad wearing media has interpreted this action as somehow racist - with comparisons to Nazi Germany and Ethnic Cleansing being bandied about with such passionate, indignant stupidity as to make a thinking person want to vomit. As Andrew McCarthy so beautifully points out, such misrepresentations are willfully ignorant or due to massive stupidity (which effectively describes the standard attack positions in this case... and yes, I am describing you as well Mr. President you big silly.)
I personally find it more than slightly disingenuous and moderately infuriating that the VAST majority of pinheaded whankers complaining about these 'draconian' measures have never been to or lived in a border town. Crime, drugs, violence and fear are daily companions - yet opponents somehow think if we just held hands and sang kumbaya all of these nasty problems would go away (as somehow border town folks obviously bring this upon themselves, being slackjawed racist white trash and all).
Are there POTENTIAL problems visa vie civil liberties with this law? Yes, and it is concerning - as is any potential violation of civil liberties. Let us not forget tho, that police are well trained and given the absolutely crushing amount of pressure they will be under, it is highly unlikely they will be keen on making any decisions that violate the statutes in the new law (which strictly prohibits racial profiling).
and lest I forget, our president is a race-baiting, uncouth leftist sack of poo who has zero respect (if not outright loathing) for police officers. Lest we forget the warm up round of "police acting stupidly" in a case he new nothing about involving his black professor friend being arrested - resulting int the first 'beer summit' in order to smooth over problems created / exacerbated by his own ignorance, but now... it has been taken to a whole new level. In a sorry excuse for a presidential speech - Mr. Obama described how people of Mexican decent, taking their children out for ice cream 'would be harassed'. 'A possibility' he said... I literally screamed at the radio. Mr. Obama may have been a terrific community organizer, but as far as a president, he is an absolute embarrassment - although I'm sure Saul Alinsky would be proud.
In one small statement, he not only undermines trust in and authority of police, but engenders race-baiting, fear and hatred. God help us, but Limbaugh was right when he said race relations would deteriorate with Obama in office... I never would have believed that a president of the United States would act in such a manner. It is truly disgusting.

Sadly, all of this misses the point (if the point is immigration reform and not race-baiting that is).
As much as the Arizona law might be required - it only treats a symptom, not the disease. In this particular instance, we must do more than wield the stick. We must remove the carrot as well - and the answer is simple.

Go after businesses that willingly hire illegal immigrants - all of them. Make the penalties hurt. Once the cost of doing business with 'cheap' illegal immigrant labor surpasses the cost of doing business the legal way - businesses will no longer hire illegal immigrants. Oh yeah, and jail terms for the ownership. That would provide quite the incentive. Once the draw is taken away, our problem will be drastically reduced.

Somebody could actually read the 14th Amendment and rule on it accordingly. How any thinking person could read the 14th Amendment and conclude that if you squirt out a kid in our borders that that child is entailed to citizenship is baffling. This would take away the anchor for continued immigration of family members (of course, a grandfather clause would need to be in effect - but still, it would significantly help in regards to future influx.

Secure the effing border. Seriously how hard can this be to understand. Don't hamsting the border patrol. lots of had things happen in these lawless zones from drug smuggling to human trafficking to terrorist activities visa vie the last 2 things. Here is a newsflash. Mexicans do not want to stay in Mexico. Remittances help keep the Mexican economy (such that it is) going. If we don't physically prevent illegal entry , they will keep coming.. and so will drug smuggling, human trafficking, etc.

A functional guest worker program would be a bonus. Then we would know who is in the country- and we would prevent this labor force from being treated as glorified slave labor and prevent the ongoing exploitation of an underclass of our own making (unfortunate side effect of that one is that it would deny the Democrats a powerful voting block, as their party as it is currently situated cannot survive with out an underclass to 'care for' (and by 'care for' I mean to 'repress in the first place and then indignantly cry out that it is the fault of Republicans, racist whitey or the evils of Capitalism. And the Republicans? They might just need to rethink the wisdom of getting into bed with business interests that are willing to turn a blind eye to illegal activity as long as profit margins are high.

Just a few suggestions, but what do I know, right? I'm just a 3rd generation immigrant (on all sides) with a legal immigrant wife and my 2nd generation adopted Mexican daughter... I'm such a racist bastard...

Yes, it is true - we are a country of immigrants.
We are also a country of laws.
The suggestion that these two statements are diametrically opposed, or that somehow belief in the sanctity of the rule of law makes one a racist is flatly wrong, disingenuous and outright stupid.

Illegal immigration is a serious problem. In this, we deserve serious, thoughtful leadership - not a race-baiting, elitist demagogue with a messiah complex. The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-87753757185257598312010-04-23T21:32:00.002-05:002010-04-23T21:47:11.360-05:00In Response to Stupidity..

<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="country-region"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="Street"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="address"></o:smarttagtype><o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" name="place"></o:smarttagtype>

You might be a conservative if...

You think "proletariat" is a type of cheese – only a liberal would start an insult with cheese. Seriously.. And then there is the whole class separation / warfare thing right off the bat. Of course, being a liberal elitist, they wish to establish a sense of intellectual superiority.. instead, they establish only their superiority complex and a love of fancy cheese….
You've named your kids "Deduction one" and "Deduction two." – I will be blunt here. Say that to my face, please. Question my love for my children. I will feed you your fucking teeth.
You've tried to argue that poverty could be abolished if people were just allowed to keep more of their minimum wage – ah yes my liberal friend, because the government can take care of people much better than they can, right? Perhaps if you can’t make it on minimum wage, some training or schooling (self betterment) might be in order? Maybe even a little personal accountability… The free market is the best hope for ending world poverty – not government intervention (and by the by, the convoluted tentacles enmeshed in the free market as it currently stands, effectively hamstrings the market from coming anywhere near that dream.
You've ever referred to someone as "my (insert racial or ethnic minority here) friend" – again, my liberal friend, you flex your stupidity in tremendous fashion. Liberals are the bean counters of friendships, making quotas and affirmative action lists – conservatives just have friends (and if they do categorize as such, then they are douchebags who call themselves conservatives and not true conservatives). Wait a moment while I kiss my brown immigrant wife and brown adopted daughter before I continue writing… you jagoff.
You've ever tried to prove Jesus was a capitalist and opposed to welfare. – Capitalism, socialism. liberalism nor conservatism existed at the time of Christ, you historically ignorant toad. ‘Do unto others’ and ‘teach a man to fish’ work pretty well for me. I also find it slightly disingenuous, that a liberal (who historically has a habit of attacking all things Christianity) would even bring Jesus into an argument…
You're a pro-lifer, but support the death penalty. – What’s your point? Liberals tend to grant more rights to fish, trees and insects than to unborn humans. If being ‘pro life’ is supposed to be an insult, than you are a bigger jackass than I thought. And yes, in a perfect world, devoid of any shadow of a doubt of guilt and or innocence – I’m ok with the death penalty (and something tells me, that if something unspeakable happened to your family, you would want the same… you hypocritical nutsack)
You think Huey Newton is a cookie. – It would’ve been better if he were. What is staggering is that you would even bring him up. Black Panthers have quite a checkered history. Not exactly a peaceful one. Then again, you unmitigated douchebags idolize Che Guerra, so I shouldn't really be surprised.
The only union you support is the Baseball Players, because heck, they're richer than you. – Dear God, you are an idiot. It’s not union members, it’s union leadership (radicalized, statist-leaning, uber-corrupt LEADERSHIP, we have a problem with). And for the record, nutsack, the average union guy makes a better living than most and has better benefits..
You think you might remember laughing once as a kid. – Nice. If anything, liberals are the glum, humorless souls who constantly wail against the inequities of life. And as adults, we laugh all the time, at liberals… you nutsack
You once broke loose at a party and removed your neck tie - stop, you’re killing me with the funnies… Do you even know any conservatives? Silly question.
You call mall rent-a-cops "jack-booted thugs." – a conservative wouldn’t say something that stupid. Strictly the prevue of liberals… ya nutsack
You've ever referred to the moral fiber of something. – your point being? Of course lacking any moral fiber of any kind, you wouldn’t understand. You’re just full of the regular kind – and poopie
You've ever uttered the phrase, "Why don't we just bomb the sons of bitches." – a rather simplistic response and not entirely inaccurate – a comparative liberal response would be ‘why don’t we just hold hands and sing kumbaya
You've ever said, "I can't wait to get into business school." - again, your point being? Business (not government) creates jobs. How else are you going to put the proletariat to work? Nutsack.

The liberal will force them to rely on government to provide substandard shoes and to hate those who have better shoes than they. Nutsack
You confuse Lenin with Lennon. – one was one of the greatest mass murderers in history, the other, a musician – gunned down by a lunatic. My anger appears to be misplaced.
It is not the 'other' 50% that I take issue with. Hell, I pay a significant amount more in withholding taxes every year so that my pain is incremental..
The 50% that don't pay income tax don't pay it because they don't have to.
Simple, yes - but instructive nonetheless.
What do we expect?
We could say, 'hey guy, I know the economy sucks and all - but could you please pay your fair share of taxes...please'? (and in on a related note, Americans are essentially split as to whether income tax payments are 'fair' - big effing shocker there...)
I'm sure that would go over as well as Rosie O'Donnell in a Maxim spread...

No one is going to voluntarily give up funds to the government.
Which makes sense, why give money to a hopelessly corrupt, bloated and inefficient organization that steadily (and as of late, at a frighteningly fevered pace) robs us of our liberties and freedom?
I know that this may come as a shock to you, gentle reader - but my anger is squarely directed at...(wait for it)... the government. (and you always thought I was their biggest fan..)

But what about 'social justice' 'compassion' and 'equality'?
and for that matter, what about the 'middle class' that our class-baiting president loves to pay lip service to? Nice piece on that one here... but I digress..
In that classic Mel Brooks movie 'History of the World, Part I' the Roman Senate was set to vote on expenditure of funds on palaces or the people - the response of the Senate was 'Fuck the Poor' in unanimous fashion.
And that kids is how Conservatives and Republicans have allowed themselves to be painted (and let's be honest, not entirely inaccurate in describing certain politicians or other business leaders who falsely label themselves as conservatives and have lined up over the years to support .... then again, Democrats have also taken huge sums of money from the coffers of the corrupt, but I digress..again)

Here's the rub. We live in the most generous nation on the face of the earth. It is incumbent upon us to help those who cannot help themselves. Assertion to the contrary is (in my view) unacceptable (and one of my larger arguments to Objectivist Theory visa vie Ayn Rand.. not that she outright argues against it, but she certainly did not feel it was a wise use of resources)

Tell me, what is more compassionate - providing a system of relative comfort that essentially chains one to a life of mediocrity, preventing any chance of realizing even of a fraction of their true potential.. effectively a slave under the yoke of soft tyranny - or the chance to succeed as far as your desire, talent and effort can carry you - in a system that has made us the envy of the world for far longer than any of us have been alive? Of course, that same system will permit failure - but the extent and duration of that failure would squarely and certainly fall upon your shoulders?
Sadly, the former system becomes more and more entrenched in our psyche - thrust upon us by a government whose satiety knows no end - and the latter.... a fading dream from that Shining City Upon the Hill..
We The People have been incentivezed to suckle at the teat of government, not to produce - and this will destroy the American Dream as surely as if the dreamer itself was killed
Where then is the 'social justice' in this?
Are we all made equal by mediocrity and false promises of a Utopia that exist only in the minds of those who would call themselves our betters?

Meh.

Unsustainable. The word gets lip service - but I didn't quite grasp it until I spent 1/2 hour listening to this. View and weep my friends.
Sure, tax those big bad rich people. Won't even BEGIN to touch our debt.
$210,000.00 per person, or something like that...and it continues to climb at astronomical levels.

Realize, of course, that this is not all the fault of our Celebrity in Chief (although, by orders of magnitude, he is more to blame than any other president in recent memory - outspending even FDR.)
As I am fond of saying, Bush spent like a drunken sailor (cutting taxes = good, increasing expenditures = bad, doing both simultaneously = stupid). Obama, on the other hand, is spending like a fleet of drunken sailors on amphetamines. Damn it anyway, I am digressing again...
But since I am on a little Obama rant here..
I have heard arguments that he is a socialist.
I have heard others that he wishes to turn us into a European style Social Democracy.
I find both comparisons to be largely irrelevant.
Haven't we fought wars ostensibly to prevent the spread of socialism / communism?
Didn't we fight base the Revolutionary War because we, in part, didn't want to be part of Europe?
Just a thought..

Government has become ubiquitous. So enmeshed are they in our daily life, that we can't even notice them anymore. Something tells me, this is not what the founders had in mind.
Entitlements (needless ones) are destroying the fabric and industrious strength of our nation.
Overly burdensome regulations place the U.S. #61 in countries rated in ease to do business.
Our corporate taxes are the highest in the world.
Institutions are bailed out, as too-big to fail.
Government jobs grow in size and paycheck as the private sector continues to shrink and constrict under the weight of increased burden and decreased reward.
And this same government has the gall to tell our children that we 'cannot expect to be #1 in science and technology forever'..... is this the Audacity of Hope we were promised?

So.
Where does this leave us?
Republicans? Track record is not good. In fact, it sucks. They scream fiscal conservatism when it suits them, nothing more. They will need to act consistently and decisively in order to regain a modicum of trust.
Democrats? Not bloody likely. Especially this iteration of a once proud party seems hell bent on forcing us headlong into decline and keep us there. They are easily the most dangerous internal threat the country has ever seen. Inflammatory? Perhaps, but not inaccurate.
Is the enemy of my enemy my friend?
Can all we hope for is a stalemate? Equal representation of stupidity and corruption to gum up the works and slow our inevitable collapse?

No.

I will not leave my daughter to this fate.
Her generation paying for our mistakes, it cannot be allowed.

We The People, must get off of our collective asses.
Vote.
Support those candidates who will focus on limited government
a balanced budget
drastic reductions in unnecessary social programs and restructuring and reform of those necessary ones
less restrictive corporate regulations
a FAIR system of taxation (and a swift junkpunch for anyone who ever even thinks about a value added tax..
an energy policy that promotes national independence from foreign interests
and actively work to replace those who do not.
Just a start.
Just a thought.

The Tea Party is off to a good start - but they need help.
As my friend the professor has pointed out, some visible outreach to minorities would help. Too many forces are aligned against it to make it appear racist. Sadly, it is not enough to be race-neutral as it were - we need to actively court a diversity of like minded people.
Conservatism has allowed itself to be painted as white-only. This must not only be stopped, but the perception MUST be reversed. The message must be made clear that conservative principles will do more to raise the standard of living for all people, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, orientation, unibrow or manicured or even Baltimore Raven's fans than liberalism ever can hope to. Ours is a problem of communication, not content.

But the biggest problem we face is one of apathy.
To which, there is only one solution... a couchectomy.
This entails removing the meaty portion of the gluteus maximus from your favorite sofa.
Vote.
Engage.
Do not shy away from arguments.
Ignorance and stupidity cannot go unchallenged.
The status quo cannot be allowed to stand.
A Sam Adams once said

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."
And in this, the majority has not prevailed - and brush fires continue to burn.

The silent majority can no longer remain silent - 0r essentially, we are screwed.
The Shining City on the Hill will be relegated to legend and our children will suffer under the yoke of soft tyranny and a continual decline towards perpetual mediocrity.
The choice, as always, is ours. The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-44994977228154847252010-04-07T19:52:00.008-05:002010-04-08T12:54:34.664-05:00Strong Horse, Weak Horse.....Shetland PonyWhen your foreign policy record makes Jimmy Carter look hawkish by comparison you just know you are doing something terribly, terribly wrong...
Oh dear God, but our president is a complete joke - and that is painful to say.
Certainly, I enjoy brow beating our favorite Alinskyite on domestic policy issues. Hell, it is as target rich an environment as one could ever hope to have in regards to failed policies and general stupidity - but I would much rather leave my disputes at the borders as it were.
Though POTUS leaves me no choice.

Sadly his incompetence in domestic policy is far overshadowed by his overwhelming stupidity and sheer ineptitude when it comes to foreign policy.

Just for shits and giggles, let's take a look and peek at some of his gems over the last few years...

After 'Black Sunday', I was a little off my game.
No, it wasn't out of despair (admittedly, I was bummed)
It wasn't out of anger (duh, I was pissed)
It was a completely different problem....
It was purely a problem of focus.
So many targets of opportunity and so little time to rant.
As we used to say in the military, we have a target-rich environment out there.
Focus Damian, focus.....
Iran...Israel...Obamacare...10th Amendment...Guam tipping over and capsizing....
and it goes on and on and on (ad nauseum)
But ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!
Today, I had the remarkable displeasure of listening to our Narcissist in Chief delivering another factually challenged speech in North Carolina (which is about as enjoyable as undergoing a urodynamics examination)... when he spewed forth a few statements of such telling arrogance, that for a rare moment...my thoughts were crystallized (and that, my friends, is a rare event - apparently rarer than my ability avoid the use a run-on sentence...)

In his rhetorical flotsam that passed for a speech, Obama laid bare his contempt for the free market, his love of government - and himself as the personification of it.

His first remark was about the 'former' Student Loan Industry -

'I (the all-powerful, all knowing messianic figure known by the ignorant masses as Barack Obama) have taken $87 billion (or some such) from the Banks (those evil, profit mongering bourgeoisie bastards) and through the government (an instrument of my supreme intellect, will and generosity) will direct the funds straight to you (the proletariat, the great, ignorant unwashed - those who I swear to work for, but consistently exploit and subject to servitude of the state)....(and by the way, I will use the bloviated $87 billion 'savings' and use them towards justifying Obamacare...which is win-win really..'
OK, perhaps not a literal dictation of his speech - but close enough for government work as it were (besides, if one can tune in to the deafening subtleties of his ego, it is more or less an accurate translation)
For you see... The Barack giveth (to the state) and the Barack taketh away (from the private sector) and another piece of the private sector is absorbed by the state.

Automobile industry (GM, Chrysler)

Banking

Housing / Mortgages

Healthcare Industry

Student Loans

Health, housing, transportation, education and finance...
Something tells me the Founding Fathers would be delivering a profound junkpunch to what passes as our elected representation at this point
but I digress..

On to my favorite bit of steaming poo from the speech, where 'The Wizard of I' proclaimed

No corporation ever does anything for the public good
Let that one sink in for a minute.
I will wait for a moment whilst the rage boils within ye....

Possible translations of our favorite community organizers statement include:

No private enterprise does anything good for the public

Corporations are evil, selfish entities that take resources away from the state

Public good and private enterprise are diametrically opposed

Only the state (as an instrument of my magnificence) knows what is good for the public

The state must control resources to ensure the public good

Obama's disdain (if not pure contempt) for capitalism and the private sector could not be more clear. He continues to attack these pillars of our country at every turn..and he is relentless.
He has already publicly decried the limitations of the Constitution and the unwillingness of the Supreme Court to go 'far enough' in promoting social equality.
He is a demagogue who fancies himself as a demigod.

Ladies and gentlemen...we have elected a Marxist.

In one 'transformational' administration, Obama plans on moving us from the Declaration of Independence - to a nation of dependents.

and God help us, it is our fault.

We allowed our elected leadership to suck.
We failed to hold them to the high standards we demand.
We watched silently as our freedoms and liberties were slowly eroded.
We dutifully lined up to be bribed with our own stolen money.
We acquiesced.

Now we suffer under the tyranny of a leftist douchebag in the White House, an Evil skank in the House and a massively incompetent choadwank in the Senate (not to mention the countless brain-dead, sackless, sycophantic bastards populating the hallowed halls of government).

So,
Are you pissed?
Outraged?
Incensed?
MOTIVATED?

Good.
Silently stewing in our collective juices ain't gonna cut it.
We had better become the vocal majority in a hurry - or we run the risk of relegating ourselves to the culturally-challenged bitch of Europe. Just another bankrupt nation amongst nations.

Personally, the thought of leaving to my daughter such a nation.... is almost too terrible to contemplate.

The sleeping giant is awake.
The stomping begins in November...
Time to 'dissolve (some) political bands' at the ballot box and begin the rebuilding process.
Besides, 'Hope and Change' really smells like poo....

The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-17638734950530889752010-03-21T19:02:00.008-05:002010-03-22T23:58:06.469-05:00Atlas DefecatedSo, who misses living in a Representative Republic?
How about a Liberal Thugocracy?
'Cause that's what we've got kiddos.

Crazy how you can go to bed one night living in a Democracy and wake up in a Socialist country.
And make no mistake, this is what is left of us.

With a swipe of a pen, 1/6th of the economy has been turned over to the government. An entire industry, shattered and a people, glorified wards of the state.

Like maggots feasting on a fresh kill, the bureaucrats will come and their number will be legion. IRS agents to scrutinize the populace, to ensure by fine or imprisonment those who do not follow the rule of statist whimsy. Others will come, to tell you what 'plan' you can buy, (for as long as the feeble remains of private sector healthcare can hold out) what care you can receive, what conditions are treatable, how long you will wait. It goes on....and on...and on....

We begin the slow inexorable march to single payer.
The government will control the entire healthcare system and we will be theirs...from cradle to grave.

What is infinitely worse, is the manner in which it happened.
Were it the will of the people, I could acquiesce....possibly....to an extent anyway.
But this..
America has been forcibly sodomized, without lube or even dinner.
The constitution has been treated like an inconvenience, nothing more. A mere item to be circumvented on the path to statist glory....

Freedom.
Liberty.
Unalienable rights - not as a special dispensation of government but as a right bestowed by a higher power.
THAT was the founders intent. THAT is what is spelled out in the Bill of Rights.
The egomaniacal demagogic bastard that he is, Obama sees himself in the light of that higher power - (as does the statist in general). The bestower of rights. The fountain of knowledge and wisdom.
Elitist bastards, all of them.

As a professorial friend so eloquently pointed out yesterday

Very cool, how Bill o' Rights has not ONE thing to say about what government CAN do. Did not bestow or guarantee a single right, as we are born with them. Government can only tax them away....(and they are doing a hell of a job at the latter)

Of course that wisdom is lost on our Demagogue in Chief (as is wisdom of any kind apparently) not to mention the sycophantic leftist garbage that populates the majority of hour House of Representatives and Senate. They only wish to remake the country. The will of the people, its laws and traditions be damned.

If the Constitution and The Bill of Rights are relegated to common documents, what will tie one generation to the next?
Law will be whimsy
and society only as good as its leaders...
Which hasn't worked out for us very well lately.
Not very well at all....

It has been said that hell is the worst possible outcomes of our creations, decisions and choices. ~ ladies and gentlemen of the United States of America, I give you the presidency of Barack Obama. Welcome to a hell of our own making.

Or maybe,
Just maybe
It is just purgatory.

In the last 12 hours, I have seen and heard more displeasure spoken by more voices than I ever thought possible. I have seen more people take an interest in the political system that at any other time in my life...by leaps and bounds.
Let's face it folks. America has a habit of getting its ass kicked...initially.
WWI
WWII
Korea
to name a few.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the 'Sleeping Giant' has been awakened again...and it is not wise to piss of the giant. The giant has a tendency to kick considerable gluteus maximus when so prodded...and we have been prodded with all the grace of a blind, fat fingered proctologist who hasn't had his coffee...
If we can (or rather, if we choose) to harness this righteous anger - to push forward...to actually hold our elected leaders accountable to the standards we DEMAND as citizens of this once proud country, we can take it back.

But it won't be easy. Not even a little bit.

A new generation of leadership must be forged. One beholden to the ideals that formed and made this country great - not to the ideals of power and special interest.
Leadership with the testicular (or ovarian as the case may be) fortitude to make difficult decisions, principled decisions....and to actually LEAD.
Until then, my friends, we are just pissing in the wind.
Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing..save our own impotent anger.

Once upon a time, I took an oath. In part, it went like this.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.."

I've been thinking of that oath a lot lately. It is painfully obvious that our illustrious leadership wouldn't recognize this oath if it were tattooed on Rahm Emanuel's ass.... yet I digress. We should all be familiar with it. All of us. Until we are, we are all lost.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. We had all better wake the fuck up and recognize that fact or we will lose it forever.
And I hate losing.
Especially to a bunch of jackoffs like we have in Washington right now...
If we are to retake the 'Shining City on the Hill', we need to start in earnest. We've already lost a lot of ground...

And if on the way, you happen to meet a smug statist or fool, who refers to you as 'angry'- allow me to share the following from a FaceBook exchange from a few hours ago..

Righteous anger is appropriate when one's freedoms have been stripped,
When our liberties ignored,
When our traditions held in contempt,
When our children and our children's children are forced to pay the folly of our leaders arrogance with the fruits of their labors

And I say unto thee that would speak lightly of your anger...
'go fuck yourself'

No.
It's not over.
It is not the beginning of the end.
It is the end of the beginning.

I look forward to the fight.

(and thanks professor. The Republicans, predictably, capitalized on the event, calling Rangel a 'corrupt Harlem Democrat'.
David Shuster, being the jackass that he is, apparently questioned the use of the word 'Harlem' suggesting that the word was 'racially tinged' (oddly, the 'corrupt' description didn't raise an eyebrow...)
Never mind that Harlem is actually Rangel's district or that he offices there - because, dammit, a REPUBLICAN said 'Harlem' and all those damn Republicans are evil racist bastards!
I wonder if any of the non-black residents of Harlem are offended?

Exhibit (C) - Liberals, in general. Screw it. I'm tired of beating around the bush here.
Yup.
I said it.

'Why' you ask? How could it be that the self-styled champions of the oppressed are racists?
No, they aren't the sheet-wearing, cross-burning fucktard variety. Those ignorant bastards are up front about their frighteningly asinine and hateful beliefs - 'hate' being the operative word. 'White Power' blah, blah, blah. They are generally marginalized by civilized society (as they should be)- except for Robert Byrd that is...
The liberal racist fucktard (LRF) is of a more stealthy and dangerous variety - and the reason is simple. They don't hate 'minorities', they just apparently hate white people - or rather, white men and the 'oppressive' society they have created.
The LRF kills minorities with kindness, or what the LRF perceives as kindness anyway.
The LRF has given the world the bigotry of low expectations.
Why is it that a mention of 'civics literacy' by former Senator Tom Tancredo brought forth screeching protests from Rachel Maddow as being designed to prevent blacks from voting (and yes I say 'blacks' because not all 'persons of color' originate from Africa - besides, I am referred to as 'white' (among other things) and not 'Anglo-American' so if you have a problem with the terminology, feel free to bite me). And yes, once upon a time in a very different America, literacy tests were used and designed to shut out the black vote by unequal application of law at the time (allowing illiterate whites to vote while denying blacks the same right). Today, we as a nation, spend ungodly sums of money on a public school system that EVERYONE (regardless of race, color, creed or even citizenship status) has access to. NOBODY should be illiterate, period. So, Ms. Maddow (and all you other LRFs) why is it that any test of literacy would only adversely affect the black population? Are non-blacks somehow smarter? In your LRF wisdom, do you somehow know best? It is obvious that you think you do anyway... you elitist jackass
Such examples are endless.
New Haven, Connecticut invalidated firefighter promotion tests when minority candidates failed to pass. Firefighters who actually passed the test (one of whom had a learning disability) had to take the case to the Supreme Court in order to receive the promotions that they earned (which eventually ruled in their favor, score one for the Supreme Court)
~ side note. Sonia Sotomayor, the 'Wise Latina' herself, had her appellate court ruling in that matter overturned. Oops. Apparently, disenfranchisement is perfectly acceptable if in the name of diversity, right Sonia?
If one really wants to lose one's mind (which is a terrible thing to waste, after all) - all one really needs to do is turn to 'The View' - a cornucopia of stupidity and uber-liberalism (with the notable exception of Elizabeth Hasselbeck) (and I apologize for the redundancy of 'stupidity' and 'uber-liberalism' - but it is either very late at night or early in the morning and I grow weary and cranky). Yet I digress. During a post-Oscar re-hash, Sandra Bullock's victory for 'The Blindside' was discussed - when Vanessa Williams (sitting in for Whoopie Goldberg) uttered forth the following snippet of pure crap "brings up a theme for black folks. Here's another white family that has saved the day... another black story that has to have a white person come in and lift them up."
Boys and girls, if that's not racist then water 'aint wet and the sky 'aint blue. Of course, this sort of statement goes unchallenged when person spewing such sewage is a liberal (or in this case, liberal and black). Again, just think of the response if the above statement was uttered by a non-liberal.
Lest I forget the Limbaugh / Rams (minority) ownership debacle - where Limbaugh was essentially banned from ownership over comments he never made. Of course J-Lo can lyrically muse And the game done chose me to bring pain to niggas and pussy holes, they one in the same and be awarded a minority shareholder in the Miami Dolphins franchise... Because Limbaugh describing media cheerleading for Donavan McNabb due to a wish to see a successful black quarterback was 'divisive' according to Goodell...... and J-Lo's lyrics were obviously enlightened... idiots. Hypocritical idiots, all of them

Allow me to be blunt for a moment (because usually, I so masterfully hide what I am really feeling)..
Liberals think they are better and know better than everyone else. As such, they need to protect the great unwashed masses from the inequities of society.
From this belief has sprung the well-intentioned but nonetheless oppressive practice of the welfare state. That is, since folks (in this case, non-whites) aren't smart enough or clever enough to take care of themselves, the LRF (in the form of the state) must do it for them.
Conservatives are truly equal opportunity. Rise or fall, succeed or fail, we are all created equal - with the same basic skill sets and potential for greatness or failure. What you do (or fail to do) is up to you. Either you will self-actualize, realizing your potential or you will fail.
How is it then, that the conservative allows themselves to be painted by the racist brush (and for that matter, why is it that every non-white - from Condaleeza Rice to Miguel Estrada, who is conservative, is either branded a sell-out or an Uncle Tom?)
What is more cruel, allowing one to succeed or fail on their own merits or the soft tyranny of never having to do anything but suckle at the government teat?

Personally, I'm done backing away from this.
I refuse to be branded as prejudiced, racist or the like (which is always comical to me considering my family makeup).
We can either challenge the abject stupidity and hypocrisy of the status quo as the painting of conservatives / Republicans as racists - or by default, accept it as a completely unwarranted and inaccurate 'truth'.
Nut up or shut up, as it were.

Me?
I'm calling a watermelon a watermelon.The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-74946603207152494862010-03-02T18:10:00.005-06:002010-03-02T21:29:54.980-06:00Ma, Where's My Elephant Gun?A friend once asked me why I was pro-Republican -
to which I replied, 'I'm not pro-Republican, I'm anti-stupid' and as recent days have shown us, stupidity is not the sole purview of Democrats - and apparently, neither is hypocrisy

I know that Republicans border on numerical insignificance in congress - but still, even with such limited numbers, how is it that only one member has a set of testicles?
I guess fiscal conservatism is only attractive when it is politically expedient

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Senator Jim Bunning.
The ONLY person in Washington with the testicular (or ovarian) fortitude to stand up for fiscal conservatism and common sense.

Jim Bunning has blocked a spending bill.

Not just any bill mind you, but a bill that would (gasp) DELAY the extension of unemployment benefits to the nation's unemployed and force the furlough of @ 2,000 federal employees. Forget for a moment that 99 weeks of unemployment benefits is more akin to welfare than unemployment benefits - and the number of federal employees, like Rosie O'Donnel's ass, needs to be substantially downsized for the sake of humanity - that this lovely piece of legislation is the first major piece of spending AFTER the much publicized PAY-GO legislation hyped by our glorious Celebrity in Chief and passed by a Congress that is about as effective as tits on a bull... and of course; Obama, his merry band of idiots and his unwitting sackless cohorts in the GOP want this particular bill to be an exception to the aforementioned PAY-GO / 'look ma, I'm trying to balance the budget' legislation! (my apologies for the mammoth run on sentence - but dammit, I'm pissed off and in no mood to follow proper grammar)

So, the GOP has forgone principal in order not to be painted as heartless scrooges.
Instead, they look like eunuchs.
Law either applies or it doesn't.
Otherwise, it is more of a suggestion, isn't it?
'Sir, I suggest that you not rob that bank!' Yeah, that's about as effective as our foreign policy decisions pertaining to Iran...

Obviously, I expect this sort of crap from the Democrats. At this point, they have become a cesspool of corruption, stupidity and thuggery - led by an incompetent, arrogant jackass on a scale so monstrous, that can only be compared to....Rosie O'Donnell's ass...but I digress.

But the Republicans?
You sackless pieces of fecal matter....and here I thought you learned something....

Glen Beck caught a significant amount of grief from certain conservative radio talk show hosts following his CPAC Key Note speech. Many thought he was unsupportive of a party that had obviously learned its lesson about turning its back on its conservative principles. I had heard rumblings from Limbaugh, Bennett and Levin, echoing this theme or at a minimum, taking potshots at Beck while praising the GOP for standing firm against the Obama agenda.
Apparently, only so long as it is politically expedient...
I wonder if Beck has received any apologies?

Leadership often demands tough choices.
Leadership necessitates principled decisions.
Leadership requires character.

President Obama is many things, but a leader is not one of them. At best, he is a disappointment - at worst...he is yet another Baldwin brother.

So where is the leadership of the 'loyal opposition'?
Those who happily beat the drum of disdain and champion the cause of deficit reduction?
(insert cricket sounds)
...............

Yeah, I thought so.

Prior to the '08 elections, I had told a friend of mine that I wouldn't piss on the Democrats if they were on fire. The Republicans on the other hand, I would take great joy in pissing on.

No, I'm not freaky like that...you sick bastards...

I just save my greatest disdain for those who disappoint me the most.
Being angry at the current batch of Congressional Democrats for doing stupid shit makes about as much sense as getting angry at my dog for chasing squirrels... what the hell do you expect?

I expect more form those who profess to know better.
I expect more from those who profess to stand for fiscal conservatism
and the GOP disappoints me, yet again.

At least we have Jim Bunning.
and by 'we', I'm not talking about Republicans
I'm talking about Americans.

Is it really too much to ask for?

Idiots.
All of them

(except for Jim Bunning that is)The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-30563317702298769752010-02-25T17:05:00.009-06:002010-02-25T19:48:47.439-06:00Bipartisan My Pasty White Ass
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? That level of stupidity really shouldn't propagate beyond 1 generation)...yet I digress.

Bipartisan my pasty white ass.

'Plan B' had been written, was in the chamber and was prepped to fire before today's little P.R. event even took place. The entire premise between today's dog and pony show was to “give a face to gridlock, in the form of House and Senate Republicans.” - this at least was expressed desire by senior Democrat muckity mucks.
And let's be realistic here. EVERY republican suggestion thus far has been dismissed. Bills to date have had zero bipartisan input. After all, it wasn't supposed to need any bipartisan support - with the supermajority and all. Ooops.
Damn obstructionist Republicans! See how they prevented Democrats from...agreeing...with....themselves...? Bastards! (and to any fringe-jobs who may not recognize it, that is what we call sarcasm)

That plan failed. The lack of a bipartisan effort by the president could not have been more clear. After all, it is difficult to have a 'conversation' when the Obama spoke longer than all Republicans combined... (damn but that man loves the sound of his own voice)... and he ended the show with feigned lamentation that the divide may be too great and the nuclear option 'may' be required.
(*hypocrisy alert* Obama and co. railed against such activity as a 'an arrogant power grab against the founders' intent')

Obama claimed that 'we cannot have another year of debate on this'. The reason is simple, he has had his presidential ass handed to him over the last year and can't possibly withstand another year of such a beating. Although another year of kabuki theater might be good for the nation, at least this way we have a chance of other enormous pieces of legislation / steaming poo might be forgotten about... (I can dream anyway)

Is it too much to ask for the president (as well the current crop of hard-left leaning Democrats currently populating Washington like horny cockroaches) to not vilify 'big business' (or big pharma, big oil, Wall Street Fat Cats or big whatever)? Obviously, the answer to that question is hell-to-the-no, but I had to ask it. After all, if the 'big bogeyman' didn't exist, who would be the enemy for 'Big Government' to save us from?
- and in this particular case, the bogeyman is Big Insurance.

Take all the profits from every insurance company and put them in a fund to pay for the uninsured, how long would it last?
A whole year? Nope
6 months? Nope
3 days? Yup
Those evil capitalists! money grubbing whores! See how they are fleecing the little guy?
3 days.... Bastards! (yes fringies, that was sarcasm again)

*and for the record, I tend to loathe insurance companies on the level of a consumer and provider of services. To put it bluntly (and mildly) they suck. That being said, they suck an order of magnitude less than government. The corruption and inefficiencies of government are well documented and obvious to anyone with a brain (which of course leaves a whole lot of folks out of the equation...) - comparatively speaking, insurance companies are paragons of virtue and efficiency*

Just a few random thoughts here..

As a society, I believe it is incumbent upon us to care for those who truly cannot care for themselves. Insurance is for risk and is spread across a pool of individuals. So if you have a pre-existing condition, be prepared to pay more - it is only fair. Where the true screwing is taking place is those who have conditions and want to switch plans and in my humble opinion is where legislation is most needed.

Getting dropped by an insurer after one develops a serious medical condition is unconscionable. Methinks a public flogging of all those responsible (from top to bottom) in making such a decision is permissible. It could be a pay-per-view event, with the proceeds going to the families of the screwed...

Mandating that individuals purchase coverage may not be constitutional - but I think it is a good idea. If you wait until you have a problem to get coverage, then we are at the above problem. Then again, I am a huge fan of personal responsibility.

You can't substantially lower costs without competition.

Government and competition are mutually exclusive. Get over it. Really. No, I mean it. I hear this one all the time. Open your eyes and move on. Seriously...

Doctors and hospitals could charge less for services if they didn't have to practice with a lawyer on each shoulder. Tort reform is needed, badly.

Obama is not fighting the Republicans on this issue as much as he is fighting the will of the American people, no matter how much he would like to pretend otherwise

Current legislation on the table by the Democrats and the president has nothing to do with reforming healthcare and everything to do with power. Sad but true

So, where does that leave us?

Hopefully, in gridlock - at least that way, the American public won't be forcibly sodomized with this terrible steaming pile of legislation.

Until then, we are forced to listen to the 'Great Communicator' and his magic teleprompter try to convince us that he is really as smart as he thinks he is...

and by the way Mr. President, you lead a nation - not just a party. I would greatly appreciate it if you would realize that and stop acting like a partisan jackass.

xoxoxox,
The Weekly SubStandard

The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-62387094210821169722010-02-21T07:12:00.008-06:002010-02-21T09:04:28.088-06:00Dirty and Wrong
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? We have nigh-incoherent blogging!

That being said....

John Murtha was a jackass. A corrupt, backstabbing jackass - and I am glad he is no longer casting votes in Washington.

Yes, I am aware that many of you may find that statement tasteless at best and are awaiting lightning to strike me down at any moment where I will then become Satan's bitch for eternity... but that does not change the fact that Murtha was a jackass.

Granted, were it up to me, Murtha would've lost his seat and be sitting all fat and happy on a beach somewhere enjoying his retirement - but it appears that fate had other plans.

Call me a heartless bastard (I assure you, I've been called worse) but I find no need to spew hearts and flowers nonsense in memoriam of a man whose congressional record was utter incomplete floatsom.
Besides his well-earned title as the 'king of pork', he further earned merit badges in corruption in regards to the Iran-Contra scheme Ian was once famously quoted as saying " if I am corrupt, it's because I take care of my district".
The above, however; pale in comparison to the unforgivable sin of slandering Marines serving in Iraq. The tragedy even more heinous given that Murtha once served as a marine with distinction in Korea and Vietnam. What partisan demon could have possessed a man to assassinate the character and tarnish the reputation in order to score political points is unfathomable. "Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them, and they kill the innocent civilians in cold blood", Murtha infamously said of Marines waging a pitched battle the terrorist stronghold of Haditha. Murtha acted as judge and jury, finding the Marines guilty for crimes that had yet to be properly investigated (to date 11 of the 12 Marines have either been exonerated, acquitted or have had charges dropped against them. The last of these Marines, awaits trial this year) - Murtha cleared the way for a global onslaught of military bashing, which only served to make an incredibly difficult situation worse.

So, no - I will shed no tears for Jack Murtha. I'm sure that Dante would have unkind things to say about his final fate given his egregious act of betrayal. For his sake, one can only hope that the 'Divine Comedy is only a brilliant fiction.

Obviously, I do not look kindly on such grievances - and I freely admit that my experiences as a former combat arms officer may color my opinion to a certain degree. That aside, any politician who would pass judgment without consultation of fact should be voted out of office without hesitation. Any talking head or broadcaster who does the same should see their membership and advertising dollars evaporate. We owe our soldiers at least that modicum of respect. How any political party can tolerate such blatant stupidity such as Dick Durbin comparing our soldiers to KGB, Nazis and Khmer Rouge or John Kerry stating 'our soldiers, terrorizing innocent Iraqi women and children in the dead of night' is not only an embarrassment to that political party but calls into question the motivations of the douchebag who would vote for them.

It is true, that I am not winning any blue state friends by my commentary - but honestly, anybody who would damn me for it can feel free to bite me.

Let's just hope that Pennsylvania will redeem itself in its next choice for representation in Washington. Although either way, it is unlikely that they could do worse.

Semper FiThe Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-25804856205700524032010-02-03T20:29:00.010-06:002010-02-18T18:14:14.620-06:00Cloth or Disposable?
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? They didn't call him 'slick Willy' for liberal application of KY Jelly I suppose. That being said, one could generally tell when he was lying - and that he knew it was a game. G.W. Bush just wasn't smooth enough to be a good liar - and on those occasions when he did (those fiscal gems like Medicare reform and proposed Social Security fixes) he seemed either uncomfortable or more confused that usual.

Obama is altogether different. Water is wet and politicians lie, but it is more than that. He lies with the effortless deluded grace of 2 year old. I digress
The healthcare debacle?.....check
Terrorists being tried as criminals?.....see last response
Hypocrisy?.....uber-check
The perversion of science in the 'global warming' debate?.....check
The president's job performance thus far?.....check, check, check

I suppose the above is not terribly surprising - one would hope these would drive most modestly sane people bonkers.

Then there are the paper cuts. The little things in life that, like mental microtrauma, pulls at the remaining fraying thread of one's sanity (or at least mine). Such as:
Whoopie Goldberg?.....grow some eyebrows you psychotic leftist beyotich!
Squirrels?.....on occasion, ADD and everything...makes it hard to concentrate
Smurfs?.....absosmurfinlutely. Tiny blue bastards!
Commercials hyping something 'they don't want you to know' or 'its not your
fault you're a fattie' or 'I'm going to let you in on a secret'.... or maybe
that those line of commercials are successful enough means that people are
just that freaking ignorant? Not sure... but again I digress...stupid ADD...
NPR?....No, not the arts / travel / leisure stuff ~ which is by and large,
excellent. No, it's the news 'coverage'.

and away we go...
Once upon a time, I donated to my local NPR station (essentially for the reasons stated above) - but I got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore. I was under the mistaken impression that NPR was supposed to be 'neutral' in its reporting, not 'neutered' in intelligence. I wrote a very nice letter in my own dulcet tones style to the operating manager at KERA, explaining that having Daniel Schorr as their senior news analyst was akin to giving the same title to Sean Hannity (in the ideological sense at any rate) - and given the ridiculous slant on news analysis, I could no longer support the station anymore than I already unwillingly was due to tax contributions. Oddly, no one responded to my letter....

One past gem that nearly caused me to crash my car (true story) was a piece (of fecal matter) ranking colleges on 'service' to the community at large. The jackass news whore then proceeded to state, in his incredulity, that since ROTC was largely a 'right wing organization' that he disagreed in its inclusion in the ranking system... my head still spins when I think of that one...

Though clearly not bright enough to avoid aggravation, I again turned on KERA this morning, where the following 2 stories greeted me.

The first was a 'poor Chris Dodd' story, detailing how he is being drummed out of office due to an unsubstantiated ethics charge. There was absolutely no mention of his protection of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that was, in part, integral to the housing / banking crisis (oh yeah, and he received over $130 million in campaign contributions over the years from those same organizations, not that there was a quid-pro-quo going on there or anything... None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Only a melancholy sigh over the political death of a fine public servant... Excrement! Excrement I say!

The next beauty comes to us from a intel reporter and concerned mother who described her 'Norman Rockwell' Christmas being interrupted by the crotch-bomber. At this point, she was spot on - discussing fears she had as a mother given the hostile world climate. Then she relayed a story about her children and how, instead of playing 'cops and robbers' they would play 'good soldier and terrorist'. 'Good' soldier? GOOD soldier?? As opposed to what? The fraction that are not? The ones who 'terrorize innocent women and children in the dead of night' (John Kerry), or American soldiers to 'Nazis, the Soviet KGB, and Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge' (Dick Durbin). Perhaps as a former soldier, I'm just a wee bit sensitive here, but I hope not. That this correspondent finds it necessary to differentiate between good and bad soldiers as they pertain to the United States military is an insult...and she is completely oblivious. Admittedly, in my disgust, I quickly changed the station to some alternative rock to help scrub my brain of what I had just heard..but it won't go away. Mostly because our tax dollars fund this sort of insidious 'progressive' bullshit that works its way into the American psyche. Its like being charged to dig our own graves and my tiny peanut brain just can't handle it.
Not today.
I haven't had my meds yet...

Just another paper cut I suppose.
Just another paper cut...The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-33287581646508201202010-01-04T17:58:00.005-06:002010-01-04T19:19:03.322-06:00And Here Are Our Categories....I'll take 'you've got to be f*ing kidding me!' for 500 please..

The answer is... 'a plea deal for the crotch bomber'

I'm sorry..what was that answer again Alex? I couldn't quite hear you over the sound of my own anguished screams..

A plea deal..?
The entire Obama administration needs to be bitch-slapped..seriously.

Crotch Bomber needs to be in a cold dark room in GITMO being water-boarded right now until he squeals like a little pig (kinda like he was before he was advised that he shouldn't say anything until he talked with his LAWYER!

...just another WTF moment brought to you by, The Obama administration..

Then again, I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised.
KSM and the gang will be tried in a civilian court - in NYC
Maj Hassan is merely a murderer, not a terrorist
We have man made disasters instead of acts of terrorism

Maybe I am on to something here (as opposed to being on something here)
Despite the occasional blustery rhetoric delivered by the podium in chief - it is pretty much universally accepted that Obama does not wish to accept that we are at war. It seems that our 'overseas contingency operations' are more of an inconvenient annoyance that must be dealt with 'Barry-style', that is, a misunderstanding of sorts that can be dealt with an eloquent application of charm and verbiage. There's only one small problem.
They hate us.
They really hate us.
We can close GITMO, tear down our military tribunals, get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, abandon Israel offer pres. Bush up for war crimes and it still won't matter.
Because they HATE us and want us to die.
- This is what pres. Obama fails to comprehend, that we are in an ideological war. Placating the enemy only makes matters worse. What we sometimes view as 'compassion' (or what I generally view as 'abject stupidity') our enemies view as 'weakness'... and weakness will get you killed (and sometimes a Nobel Peace Prize) yet I digress...

Now, where was I going with this anyway?
Have you ever been so pissed off that you just can't seem to finish a thought?
That's me!
Bastards!

Honestly, I'd much rather be rambling about health care, shovel ready projects, cap and trade, Kanye West... anything but this.
I would love to support the Commander in Chief in his foreign policy decisions - at least in principal. I disagreed with aspects of implementation of the Bush doctrine, especially as they pertained to securing the peace in Iraq, etc. but I could get behind principals and policy as a whole.
It is important to stand behind the Commander in Chief - even when they say really stupid things, like 'you are either with us or against us' or when they bomb aspirin factories in the middle of a sex scandal.
But I can't.
Not now.
Because right now we have a commander that doesn't command. He pleads. He bows. He excuses.
And it is an embarrassment.
Dear God how I hope that changes

I can only hope he doesn't get a whole lot of us killed before he figures it out

I think I'll take 'this shit ain't funny' for 200..
or maybe 'I think I'll start upping the dose on my antidepressants' for 300..The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-40943001588753060092009-12-30T18:48:00.006-06:002009-12-30T20:21:15.964-06:00Holy Exploding Underpants Batman! So many possible puns about exploding underwear...
Sadly, not a one is terribly funny at this point.

Now Janet Napolitano, Homeland Security Director? That's funny - or a bad joke at any rate.
'The system worked' she says.....really?
This, of course, coming from the same monumental ignoramus that would rather refer to the 9-11 attacks as a 'man made disaster' than an act of terrorism.
Brilliant.

The president was a little slow out of the gate with an announcement.. first calling our would-be crotch-bomber (WbCB)an 'isolated extremist' before turning around the next day with more appropriate languaging, actually referring to him as a 'terrorist'. I wonder if that was physically painful for Mr. Obama, referring to someone as a 'terrorist'?
After all, the 'War on Terror' is over
and Major Hassan was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder / disgruntled employee / psychopath who just happened to have 'Soldier of Allah' printed on his business card...
yet I digress

So many screw-ups, so little time.

State Department? Check. Hilliary's house is obviously not in order. C'mon now, WbCBs dad went to the American embassy in Nigeria and gave us a head's up! Somebody sucks...I'm just sayin'

CIA? Check. So, who watches the watch list anyway? Maybe they were just busy trying to dot all of their 'I's' and cross all of their 'T's' since the Justice Department is still trying sodomize them..?

Director of National Intelligence / National Counter Terrorism Center? Check. Agencies created / expected to 'connect the dots' as it were.... not so much.

Of course, then we have the obligatory ass-covering drills. Fingers being pointed whilst thumbs were clearly up requisite rectums...
*heavy sigh*

So, now what?
Is it too much to ask that the the current administration at least give the illusion of being serious about the threat of terrorism? Honestly, I think they are more serious about it than they look. My tiny brain tells me team-Obama is so very concerned about being the 'anti-Bush' that any and all attempts will be made to convince the world at large (including ourselves) that they are indeed the 'Hope and Change' the salivating masses have been promised.
Just one problem -
Sometimes, appearance actually IS important.
Little things, like the appearance of 'dithering' over troop levels in an unpopular war,
failure to properly identify your enemy (Islamic terrorists)
little things like that.

With any luck (and continued prodding) one can only hope the administration will view this as a wake-up call
to stand up
firmly grasp their collective sack
and do what they are supposed to do - that is, keep us safe.
Otherwise, those who wish to kill us all - smelling blood in the water - will only become more emboldened.
The next guy might actually figure out how to ignite his underpants...
Next time we might not be so luckyThe Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-41897106201551568702009-12-21T18:47:00.006-06:002009-12-21T22:26:25.655-06:00Apparently, its not a Tumor...A moment of silence please.
It is my sad duty to inform you that Arnold Schwarzenegger is dead.

OK, he's not ACTUALLY dead,
he's just dead to me.

Conan the Destroyer has become Conan the Flaccid Slab of Stupidity.
The Terminator, the once proud robotic badass has relegated himself to the anals (no misspelling there..) of history as a pathetic sack of poo.

Am I being too harsh? No.
Unfair? No.
Am I pissed? Not quite
Am I disgusted? Hell-to-the-yes!

Perhaps the fault is mine.
Perhaps I demand too much from my childhood hero..?
No.
He just sucks.

The fall has been a gradual one - and so, I thought the landing would be softer.

Let's face it. His tenure as governor of California has been a complete and utter failure. With every new tax, with every new growth of state government, with every failure to reign in unions, he became more and more ineffectual. With every knob-schlobbing of the eco-moron movement he became more and more of a joke.... but today he turned from an object of pitiable disappointment to an entity of purest scorn and derision...

You must be saying to yourself, 'self, this must be about Schwarzenegger giving Obama an -A- grade for his job as president thus far.'.....and you would be wrong! (cue dramatic music) well, at least partially.

It's not the -A- that bothers me so much. For the above-listed reasons, Schwarzenegger has already proven himself to be useless. He, like Obama, are more celebrity than public servant - both large on style, little on substance.
No,
its not the grade.
Its the category.
Effort.
EFFORT!!!
Who the #*@% cares about effort!

That's like giving Nero props for playing a good fiddle while Rome burned.

Schwarzenegger, in one brief foray into stupidity has exemplified one of the greatest failings of our time. That effort is more important than results.
It is not.
Consider -
teachers are encouraged not to grade papers using red pen, for fear it may be too harsh and hurt the child's feelings
No more dodge ball
Awards ceremonies where everybody wins something
Teams vilified for winning by too much and coaches fired for the offense
Grades abandoned as too harsh

I could go on, but it I have already vomited a little in my mouth already..

Winning is no longer the desired goal.
Success is a relative term.
Excellence has been replaced with impotence.

Schwarzenegger is pathetic for what he has become.
The voice of the castrato.
Because he allowed it to be so and he was once something better, something greater.

It matters not I suppose that president Obama has made a bad economy terrible
or that he shows nothing but disdain for our country when speaking overseas
or that he is more interested in attacking G.W. Bush than defeating terrorists
or that his strident march to socialism spits in the face of our constitution
No.
What really matters is that president Obama is really trying hard - and to Arnold and the rest of the great American castrato, that is all that really matters

Apparently, its not a tumor..
I guess all of those steroids really did shrink his sack.

Bastard.The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-410908162314975028.post-19365717373059013822009-12-18T16:27:00.006-06:002009-12-18T22:09:24.394-06:00Tickling the Ironies....Poetic justice,
sweet, sweet poetic justice...

Thank you for dumping a blizzard on Copenhagen

Do you think you could drop by the Senate with a mild intestinal flu? Nothing serious, just some mid grade nausea and diarrhea to put a punctuation mark on healthcare 'reform'
that would be nice....

but I digress.. or ramble..or whatever..

Personally, I think all of the snow is thanks to Ayn Rand. Just for funzies and from beyond the grave, she managed to shake a ton of frozen precipitation onto perhaps the biggest grouping of leftist/envirowhacos/socialist/marxist elitist douchebags in the history of mankind - literally burying them in their own stupidity. Really, does it get any better than that?

Wait for it.
Wait for it..

Why yes, yes it does! President Obama flies in to Copenhagen in a blizzard - leaves in a blizzard and arrives in Washington in (you guessed it) a blizzard!

This stuff really just writes itself, doesn't it?

Of course, none of this matters to the leftist/envirowhaco elitist douchebag, because they are also socialists/marxists. Global warming is just a vehicle for the redistribution of wealth after all. The offering of $33 billion annually in climate 'reparations' makes that point quite nicely. Hell, all you have to do is look at Obama's pick for science advisor, John Holdren, whose 70s masterpiece of stupidity advocated the de-development of the United States and subsequent redistribution of resources to know that the current administration has already drunk deep from the well of kool-aid on this one. Yeah, they are pretty much gargling at this point.
The 'green' movement has been a convenient cover for them, nothing more.
Still, they are hip deep in snow - with more private planes than an airport can handle, razing a forest of paper in documents and press releases and generally creating a 'carbon footprint' the size of Michael Moore's ass... all the while wallowing in their own hypocrisy general stupidity.

So, maybe the denizens of douchebaggery in Copenhagen don't appreciate the irony of Atlas shrugging a mountain of snow on them

but i sure do

and so does the rest of the non-lobotomized world

So wherever you are, Ms. Rand, thank you
You're aces

Off subject, but has anyone else noticed that Al Gore's eyebrows look like the Grinch's? He's really starting to freak me out..
(sorry, sometimes the ADD really gets the best of me....)The Weekly SubStandardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04897087626025949905noreply@blogger.com0
